My stay at the Hotel Colonial San Carlos Cancun Centro had its ups and downs. The friendly staff and the convenient location near the bus terminal were definitely highlights. but the room itself was quite disappointing. I encountered some cleanliness issues and limited amenities that detracted from the overall experience.

The room was noisy and not well-maintained, with four cockroaches spotted during my stay. The lack of proper curtains made it impossible to enjoy a dark room for sleep. Additionally, there were just two wall outlets, both of which were meant for the TV, making it challenging to charge my devices.

The staff was friendly, which was a nice touch. However, I felt a bit let down when they didn’t assist with my luggage, especially since the stairs were narrow and steep.

However, the condition of the rooms was pretty off-putting, with bugs, old furniture, and a lack of basic amenities making it not worth the price.

My room was the first in the hallway, which meant I heard everything. The wooden stairs creaked, and both windows opened to the hallway without any curtains. It was super bright at night, and we even found cockroaches in the room. We had barely any linens, just one towel, and only one wall outlet to charge our phones. Overall, it felt really dated and uncomfortable.
